teaching pupils of the 9th and 10th forms English. It nowadays isn´t an easy task, but nevertheless try to get the best results. Usually our kids of HS Aurich do a work practice at the beginning of summer term - the 9th form for four weeks and the 10th form for a fortnight.. Just in case I´m teaching English in this term, I try to "convince" the kids ( more or less voluntarily ) to write something about their work practice. The pupils get a set pattern, fill in the form and then have to write a short text. Quite understandable: I have to help a lot. The kids certainly use the PC and their dictionaries - BUT, alas, there are really some problems : lack of appropriate and fitting words, not knowing where to find the correct English expression for "their jobs" and always relying too much on PC based translation programmes, ... .
Well, here are some examples of the kids´ tasks. Hope, you´ll enjoy them and - PLEASE! - don´t be too harsh about the humble results.
